Instant Pot Simple Syrup
With the help of your pressure cooker, you can make Instant Pot Simple Syrup in no time! This is the perfect recipe for sweetening up your drinks and desserts. All you need is sugar, water, and your Instant Pot!

Simple syrup is an ingredient that is crucial to making all of our specialty sips!
Simple syrup is a combination of sugar and water that has been heated until the sugar has dissolved. Once it cools, you have a sweet, sticky syrup that is perfect for adding to cocktails, mocktails, coffee drinks, and even desserts!
The most common way to make simple syrup is by adding sugar and water to a pot and heating and stirring until it’s dissolved. You can even make simple syrup in the microwave. In fact, you don’t need to cook it at all if you make a no-cook simple syrup!
And, if you want to be completely hands-off, try making simple syrup in your Instant Pot or pressure cooker using these simple steps.
๐How To Make Simple Syrup In The Instant Pot
Saute Method: Turn your Instant Pot to SAUTE mode and add your sugar and water. As it heats, whisk until the sugar is dissolved into the water. Turn off the device and let it cool before storing and serving.
Pressure Cook Method: Add the sugar and water to the bottom of the Instant Pot. Secure the lid in SEALING mode, then put on manual high pressure for one minute. Once the pressure cooker is finished, let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes before using the quick release if needed. Let it cool, then pour into a proper container and store.
๐งStoring Simple Syrup
To store: In an airtight container in the fridge, the simple syrup will last for up to two weeks. When you’re ready to use it, give it a little shake or stir to recombine the sugars and water before adding it to your drink or dessert recipe.
To freeze: You can freeze simple syrup for up to six months. Just pour the cooled syrup into a silicone ice cube tray or freezer-safe container. Once frozen, transfer the cubes or syrup to a freezer bag for easy storage. Use as needed, thawing in the fridge overnight or adding directly to your drink (the ice will melt and incorporate into your beverage).
